REGISTER HERE TO VOLUNTEER

We are excited to bring volunteer opportunities to the Monterey County Bar Association members and friends  in conjunction with the upcoming 2016 Stand Down, which will be held August 19-20, 2016. This event is jointly sponsored by the United Veterans Council of Monterey County & the Veterans Transition Center.

During this year’s Stand Down a variety of legal services for veterans will be offered and we NEED your HELP! MCBA  is partnering with Mandell Gisnet Center, Monterey College of Law, Monterey County Superior Court and 10 other local legal resource agencies across 6 counties to provide services over the two-day event.  Designated tents will be set-up just for legal services from workshops to Veterans Court led by Judge Lavorato, and much more!

How to Sign-up: Just click this link to register to volunteer.  Trainings will be held outside of the event dates will be offered and we ask that volunteers be able to attend one session if possible.  The training date is Wednesday, August 17th from 5:00 - 6:30 pm.

Learn More:  The Monterey Stand Down gives homeless veterans the opportunity to have a place of safety and rest where they can avail themselves to medical, legal, housing, job, education, and life skills support to gain a foothold on coming home.  The Stand Down of Monterey County is inclusive of all homeless verterans, regardless of character of discharge.
